Planning Issues

A very useful site is the Planning Portal.

As well as technical help and news for planning professionals, it has advice and links aimed at the general public. It includes links to on-line planning application forms for any local authority in England or Wales. – Also links to Building Regulations – including the online application forms.

Liverpool Planning Department

Will link you to the forms for making your own planning / building regs applications.

There are important policy documents, including drafts of those being formulated for the Local Development Framework which you have the chance to influence.

If you want to know if a particular building is Listed, see here.

But take note that it is not always easy to find the building you want – and be sure to look at the later additions at the end of the list.
You can look at the progress of your application, or any made across the city.

As yet, you cannot see any drawings on Liverpool’s site, but at Sefton & Wirral you can see the drawings that have been submitted:

Wirral:
for policy documents, see particularly http://www.wirral.gov.uk/ldf/

The official stuff is one half of the story. When things get tough you may find Planning Sanity helpful!
