History and Status

Comtechsa was established in November 1979 with funding from Liverpool City Council’s Inner City Partnership Programme.  It has developed over the years to provide a wide range of services that help community groups to make the best use of their land and buildings.

Comtechsa has also bought and re-developed 60 Duke Street as office accommodation for smaller voluntary, community and charitable organisations.

Comtechsa is a “Charitable Society for the Benefit of the Community”. We are a non profit making society, with charitable objects and Inland Revenue Charity Exempt Status.

Comtechsa is owned and managed by the community!

Originally established as a small members co-operative, Comtechsa’s membership has grown over the years to over 600 community and voluntary groups. Member groups each have a £1 share in the organisation and elect a voluntary Committee of Management of their representatives to run the organisation on their behalf.
