Project:
Internal alterations and improvements incorporating the reintroduction of 2no windows at basement level on the front elevation in connection with the provision of an additional bedroom.

General Information:
Flat 1 is situated on the ground and basement level, and is one of the 3 self contained flats housed within a listed four storey mid-terrace Georgian period building, which is owned and managed by Canning Housing Co-operative Limited.
Clients Needs:
With growing teenage children the existing tenant required a larger living area including an additional bedroom.
Prior to the works starting the whole of the front basement area was being used as dumping ground for previous tenants unwanted furniture and other items.
It was this area which was refurbished/converted to form a new double bedroom. Works included the re-introduction of two new windows with secondary glazing behind.

Funding:
The total cost of the project including statutory and professional fees was in the region of £24,000. The majority of the monies being from the groups own funds.
Completion:
Work started on site on the 5 August 2002 and reached practical completion on 19 September 2002. At present the project is approaching the end of a12 month defects liability period.
