Knowsley Domestic Violence Support Service

Peatwood Avenue, Kirkby, Merseyside L32 7PR

Service:
Full Technical

Project:
Conversion of a church hall to a support centre.

General Information:
The post-war building was originally St Martin-in-the-Fields church, then a church hall, once the adjoining concrete church was built in the 1960s. KDVSS has a long-term lease from the Church of England. The interior has been completely rebuilt with external alterations including a new roof, windows and entrance.

Clients Needs:
KDVSS required a headquarters building as well as drop-in for self-help and support services, plus a training facility (for statutory agencies as well as for users and the organisations own staff). The various users of the building need to be carefully managed with separate areas available to minimise disruption.

Funding:

Completion:
Practical completion was achieved July 2005.
